Welcome to Advanced Placement Literature and Composition (AP English IV) The college-level AP course in English Literature and Composition engages students in becoming skilled readers of prose, poetry, and literary works written in a variety of periods, disciplines, and contexts. Students become skilled writers who compose for a variety of purposes. This course prepares students to take the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) exam in May for which students may receive college placement hours.

September 11 and 12: We finished our Socratic seminars for Character Perspectives in The Poisonwood Bible. We also wrote a timed write literary analysis about the Political undertones of the novel and how it affects the work as a whole. This essay will count as 30% of your major test grade for Poisonwood. You will take the MC portion (60%) on Monday
